What did you do this past week?
I had several midterm exams this past week, so most of my time was spent toward preparing for these exams. Since most of my team members were also busy with their exams, we decided to put a significant amount of work in over Spring Break on the project in order to get it finished in time. I also had a large project due at the end of the week for one of my other classes, so I spent some time working on that as well.
What’s in your way?
Learning how to work with the various technologies that we need to incorporate for this phase of the project will be a demanding task, but I am hoping that it will be a good learning experience along the way. One way to help me with learning how to do some of this stuff is by following online tutorials.
What will you do next week?
Next week is Spring Break, so I’m hoping to just unwind for a bit and take some time off from school. Although we still have this project to work on, I’m hoping that it will be a smoother process with a less busy schedule.
What was your experience of Test #1a? (no details about the questions, please; there are still make-ups to come)
I thought Test #1a was somewhat reasonable, although I do not particularly like taking exams with Hackerrank. I was stuck on the first question for a little while, but the second and third questions were relatively simple. In my opinion, the first question could have included some more information about what it was looking for because I found it moderately confusing on how to approach the problem.
What made you happy this week?
I did not really get the opportunity to work out or play basketball this week with all of the health issues going on and a lot of the major sports that I follow are getting suspended or canceled (NBA, March Madness, etc.), so there is not much that made me happy this week. But I think I was able to put my best foot forward for my exams and projects this week, so I guess that’s something.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
I am using an online walkthrough to help me get the database portion of our project set up using AWS. I recommend looking up online tutorials for anything that you are unfamiliar with because it ensures that you stay on the right track.
